Q: Can i use these type of relays for 1Hp water pump. The pump takes 4.5A current. Questioned by Hasnat Jamil, 22-May-2014
@Jamil: I think you know by now. I am also looking for one proper relay for the same purpose. Problems with AC water pumps, they require a huge amount of inrush/starting current. For a 1HP pump that's almost 20-30 Amps for at least 0.5 to 1 seconds. This relay will be fried in the blink of an eye. May be an SLA-12VDC-SLC 30A 220V type relay will survive, but I am not sure.
