This is an E-Ink (E-Paper) display module, similar to those used in E-book readers. The Size is 1.54inch covering a 200x200 resolution, with embedded controller, communicating via SPI interface. It supports partial refresh.


Due to the advantages like ultra low power consumption, wide viewing angle, clear display without electricity and high visibility under bright sunlight, it is an ideal choice for applications such as shelf label, industrial instrument, and so on.

Q: Very cool display and works with Arduino but due to limited RAM on UNO/mini/micro text gets corrupted for multiple line You better use with Arduino Mega or RPI. Other Caveats: Require Arduino IDE latest versions (1.6+) for SPI protocol Working voltage 3.3 V and works with no power Arduino Font only size 12 and 16 given in waveshare example code 6 I/O lines required (4 SPI+ 2 Control) A bug appeared (distorted Capital 'A' ) while printing text No graphics support (except line/circle) for Arduino ........ But overall I am satisfied, I somewhat knew this is gonna happen , it happens with low ram Local/Global Stack/Heap issues ! Questioned by suntop, 22-Aug-2017

Able to get it work successfully with TM4C123 (ARM) board using Energia IDE. Since the MCU has 32 kB ram , no hiccups ! I am doing now a display retention test to see how many days the information lasts without power supply, will update when the contents get wiped off. Totally feels like typewritten character on the display, recommend for purchasing ! Thanks Techshop for bringing this stuff when I was just thinking about it ! Update : Data retains on display for very long time, probably up to years. Works on Tiva TM4C123 Microcontroller Board too using Energia IDE to code. Q: Does anyone know how to draw barcode or qrcode on that display? I've used this tutorial (https://arduinobasics.blogspot.my/2015/01/e-paper-barcode-39.html) but it always draws the same barcode no matter what text I send to the &quot;drawBCode&quot; method. Questioned by maksumon, 24-May-2018
