Q: What should i do with the wire with alligator clip ??? is it important ?? Questioned by samiul272, 22-Jun-2014

Those are for earthing. Answered by A.R, 23-Jun-2014 11:08 AM

Never used one like it before , is it safe to just leave it open or should i connect it to the ground pin in socket??? Answered by samiul272, 23-Jun-2014 15:11 PM

There is no problem if you keep that floating. If you have any metal body on your working table, you can attach the clip to that one. But do not connect it to the ground pin of the socket. Answered by A.R, 24-Jun-2014 17:00 PM

Q: Can anyone confirm whether the tip is good enough to be tinned? I have some cheap irons from many years ago and one bought recently from outside, but it looks like their tips are not resilient to rosin and thus become black (so very little heat on the tip). (De)soldering SMD stuff becomes impossible unless I want to burn the board. Basically, I want to know whether the tip can always attract solder regardless of your habit of applying flux :) Questioned by ashilur, 28-Apr-2015

Q: as a eee student and for project which type of soldering iron is best for me.and please mention about it's rating of watt Questioned by guraba12345, 09-May-2016

It’s depending on the total surrounding environment, PCB quality and also the quality of the Soldering Lead you are using for this. It is often necessary to regulate temperature for quality full soldering. Thus why we suggest to use “Adjustable Soldering Iron” or “Hakko FX888D Soldering Station” to use. But if you consider about the costing then, you can also use any 60W Soldering Iron.
